Larkfield Juniors F.C. played host to Aylesford F.C. on Sunday. Ayelsford made a mockery of their league position with some excellent attacking wing play, which gave them the better of the opening minutes of the match. Jordan bates, the Larkfield keeper, pulling off some fine saves to keep the scores level. Larkfield survived Ayelsfords opening onslaught and soon Ayelsfords defence was also being stretched. The Ayelsford keeper was also on top of his game pulling off some fines saves.
The deadlock was finally broken after 20 minutes by Larkfields Chris Thurlow who's long range shot deceived the advancing Aylesford keeper. Half time 1-0
The second half saw Larkfield having more possession and but for some excellent and brave keeping by the Ayelsford keeper Larkfield could have extended their lead early on. During this period the Aylesford keeper took a boot in the face after performing a brave save at the feet of the Larkfield attack, yet heroically carried on after receiving some lengthy attention.
Although Ayelsford were dangerous on the break it was the Larkfield pressure that eventually brought about the second goal. From one of a succession of Larkfield corners, Tom Cooper directed the ball into the bottom corner of the Ayelsford goal giving Larkfield the extra breathing space.
The game continued with pressure from Larkfield and Aylesford dangerous on the counter attack. The game was finally wrapped up for Larkfield with 5 minutes to go when another Larkfield corner saw the ball come back to Danny Osborne who hit a superb 20 yard half-volley just under the Ayleford crossbar.
