Horsted 02/03/03 League
Well well, the lads did well. Two very tight games, both decided by free kicks, one in favour of each side. Today they battled. Committed games, some may say robust games... certainly not for the fainthearted today...and to a MAN they weren't.

The prematch chat, so many questions..why is Ryan doing a Quasimodo impression? Who is Tom phoning? Why is Robbie wearing a snorkel? These and many more have to be answered.
|
Harry intercepts, Ryan cuts left wing and David peels off right wing.... It looked very professional... OK who are they and what have they done with our team.

Leybourne F.C. 08/03/03 Cup SemiFinal
Alas we lost to a Golden Goal. A very tight game where the biggest factor was the gale wind and sleet. The game wasn't helped by the teams being asked to play on a mud pitch with no markings and broken goal posts... However both teams tried hard and produced some moments of high drama despite the poor facility. With the wind blowing straight down the pitch the It mean't each team defended almost totally one half and then attacked the other. Everybody knew which goal the winner was going to be scored in, it was just a matter of seeing who would be defending it at the time. After 2 games the wind and two good goalkeeping performances had made sure the score was 0-0. Leybourne won the toss and chose to play with the wind for extra time, with half time approaching, a fine shot by Leybourne was parried wide by Chris, but the wind had the final say curling the trickling ball onto the far post and in.
